The dog tag name was coming in the world war II because at that time there was the need of wearing oblong aluminum discs on chains around their necks.

The material which is used in making the Dog tags are commonly brass, aluminum and stainless steel and also the information is on the top surface of the tag like in the embossed style or stamped but there is a problem with the stamped information that it is not long lasting like embossed . The information on the dog tag which is in the form of stamping or in the form of embossed is the prove that information cannot be removed easily.
